From the world-class GOAT trails right on site, to the scenic Bottelary Hills just beyond, expect everything from flowing singletrack to punchy climbs through vineyards and fynbos. WHAT’S AT THE EVENT?

World-class trails

Ride some of the best trails in the cape, as well as experience some newly built sections, built specifically for the event.

A camping spot / your own 3-man tent.

Book a tent from us and enjoy 1 night of camping on the Devonbosch Stellenbosch field. Or bring your own tent and set that up next to your vehicle the car park for the campers (limited spots available).

Bronze Route

Day 1 – Will see riders head into the low-lying slopes of the Bottleray Conservancy. A short trip around the Devonvale Golf Course before riders make their way onto the trails. Its gentle, not technical, and kid-friendly as we look to expose these youngsters to their first taste of stage racing.

Day 2 – Sees us head in the opposite direction to Day 1, as we head into the off-limits Simonsig conservancy and take on a flatter day around the vineyards. Peninsula Power Products will be providing the water points and kiddies’ treats over the weekend. So be sure to stop and fill up those pockets with all the sweets.

Silver Route

Day 1 – It’s a proper play day on the Bottleray trails! Head out from Devonbosch and jump straight into the best trails that Bottleray has to offer. It’s punchy in the beginning as we need to go up before we go down. Trails are smooth and not super technical, so it’s suitable for the relatively inexperienced rider.

Day 2 – Head off in the opposite direction to Day 1 and follow the Bronze route out into the Simonsig conservancy. An area that is usually off limits. Day 2 is a lot easier and exposes riders to areas you cant ride, even with a trail pass. Enjoy more gravel roads and views of the winelands on this day, return to Devonbosch to be crowned a Weekend Warrior!

Gold Route

Day 1 – Ride it all! We have scouted and scouted and found the best possible way to expose everything that is the Bottleray Trails. It will be a long and hard day out there for the Gold riders, with 2 waterpoints on route, be sure to stock up as you will need every bit of energy possible.

Day 2 – We follow the Bronze and Silver riders out into the Simonsig Conservancy. It’s a chance to get in a group and get some speed up as we head into the wine lands and into areas that only open their gates for Weekend Warriors. The team has already earmarked some overgrown trails that will be cleared up ahead of the event, making it a truly unique day out for all involved!

These are the final routes and involve many private farms. Please don’t try to ride here before the event. Routes are also subject to change. Stay tuned for the final route email, which will be sent out on October 8, 2025 at 5pm.
